Set in the heart of the Milky Way's 400km of piste, Sestriere is the highest and most snow-sure resort in the area

Sestriere gained international renown during February 1997 when it hosted the World Cup Ski Races, and it has been selected to host the 2006 Winter Olympics. But it's popularity as a ski resort dates back to the early 1930's when the Fiat motor company began to develop the area.

Now an international resort, it is part of the famous "Milky Way" ski circuit, a magnificent area with over 400kms of pistes with excellent skiing for all grades in spectacular scenery.

Apres Ski - Cosmopolitan and lively, there's highlife at the Black Sun and Tabata discos and with many Scandinavian visitors in addition to Italians and British there is an international atmosphere. Recommended: Once weekly karaoke and live music at Al Kovo and Bar Sestriere for apres-ski drinks. Brahms Pub for quality Irish beers and Frosty Dingo, a good Australian bar. Osteria Barabba is a great wine bar/restaurant.
