Chalet Jean-France

Perhaps the ultimate ski in ski out location, conveniently located next to the Yeti bar & restaurant and just a few minutes' walk to the pedestrianised Avoriaz resort centre in the vast Portes du Soleil ski area.

Chalet Jean-France is a very comfortably furnished and a wonderful addition to the short breaks and week ski programme. The chalet has now had a complete renovation inside and out, which fuses characterful décor with contemporary style; it is a wonderful place for a ski holiday!

This Chalet has 6 good-sized ensuite bedrooms over two floors, each one with a shower and two rooms have a bath to soak in too. All rooms have twin beds and all can be made up as doubles; please request at booking.

There’s a spacious open-plan kitchen-diner on the first floor plus a lounge area with a TV and DVD player, an open fireplace and a balcony boasting lovely views of the slopes and stunning sunsets. The chalet has a ski room so ski and board storage is no issue and it has boot dryers too. There is a bag store available during the day if you would like to ski on your arrival and departure day.

You really are at the heart of everything with the chalet sitting between two ski-in/out Apres ski bars, one being the Folie Douce. This means that you don’t have to go far to relax indoors or outdoors after your day on the slopes, the apres bars near the chalet close by 6.30 pm daily.

A snowcat resort taxi on arrival and departure in Avoriaz is included.  This is a fun ride in a piste basher style vehicle, saving a 5 minute walk across snow from the  Avoriaz Welcome Station (airport transfer drop off point and car park) to the chalet door, or you can take a magical horse and sleigh resort taxi (payable locally).  

Chalet Jean France is a catered chalet with chalet board which consists of a hearty breakfast, delicious afternoon tea and cake and a 3 course evening meal with wine included, all provided by your friendly host who lives out. Please note our chalet staff have 2 days off a week, a Wednesday and a Saturday. On these days they will leave breakfast and afternoon tea out for you, but the evening meal is not provided, which gives you an opportunity to dine out in the resort, where there are plenty of lovely local restaurants, not to mention an excellent choice of bars and shops.

Staying at Chalet Jean-France will give you the opportunity to genuinely ski to and from the door, enjoy après-ski bars on the doorstep and it’s just minutes away from the traffic-free resort centre, where there are shops, cafés and the brilliant Aquariaz water park.
